How would you describe your style of music?
Multi-genre, Experimental and electronic
How and when did you first get into music?
I started making music in my early teens. I’ve always loved music as a kid, but I hated playing instruments. My world opened up when I discovered Garage Band, I was so intrigued by the idea of being able to write music on a computer.
How have your family and friends supported your early aspirations in pursuing a creative career?
My friends and family are extremely supportive.
What is the feeling or listening experience you want your listeners to take away from your tracks?
I like to write songs that make you feel. Music’s beauty, to me, is it is subjective. How everyone has their interpretation, their own emotions attached to a song.
What does your production process look like?
It’s easier when you’re in a flow state, ideas just come out, but when I’m uninspired I just listen to more music, it keeps me motivated and interested. Being outside also helps a lot.
Do you take any influence from your culture and heritage when you approach projects?
I never used to, but I started doing that as of late, Since my trip back to China after Covid, I was amazed by the amount of creativity back, in music, visual art, everything.
With your remixes and reels, you combine songs from artists such as Baby Keem, ASAP Rocky, 50 Cent and more. Would you say hip-hop music has had a significant influence on your youth?
Yeah for sure
Who are other people in the industry you would love to collaborate with? Whether that’s fellow artists, songwriters or producers.
This coming year I really want to collaborate more with local artists and be part of the growing scene in Australia.
What is one thing you would love to contribute back to your culture?
It’s always been a goal of mine to be a part of the China /Asia scene, and inspire the next generation of creators.
Who inspires Ming?
Everyone and everything
